Riyadh, September 14, 2025 – MBC1 presents the suspenseful Gulf drama “Summer 99”, a story of betrayal, intrigue, and family secrets that continue to echo across generations. Written by Maryam Nasser and directed by Saud Bu Obeid, the series airs on MBC1 and is also available to stream on Shahid following its on-screen broadcast.
The drama follows the family of Shuaib Ma’rouf, who, in the year 2025, finds itself compelled to confront painful memories and hidden truths that date back more than a quarter of a century—specifically to the summer of 1999. Events from that turbulent time turned their lives upside down, weaving a web of conspiracies and mysteries whose consequences still shape the lives and futures of the younger generations.
