On the special directives of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), in collaboration with Al-Khidmat Foundation, dispatched the fourth shipment of humanitarian and relief assistance under the current batch for the brotherly people of Gaza Strip through Egypt today.
A special chartered aircraft from Pakistan carrying 100 tonnes of humanitarian and relief supplies landed at El-Arish International Airport, Egypt this afternoon.
Officials from the Embassy of Pakistan, Cairo received the consignment and formally handed it over to the Egyptian Red Crescent Society for onward transportation to the residents of Gaza.
The relief package includes flour bags, rice, chickpeas, cooking oil, fruit cocktails, and sweet corn, aimed at alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people in the wake of the ongoing humanitarian crisis.
The Government and people of Pakistan express their profound gratitude to the Government of Egypt, under the leadership of President H.E. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and to the Egyptian Red Crescent Society for their continued support and facilitation in ensuring the safe and timely delivery of humanitarian assistance to Gaza.
With today’s shipment, Pakistan has so far dispatched 23 humanitarian consignments to the Palestinian people, bringing the total relief delivered to 2,227 tonnes.
More humanitarian consignments from Pakistan are in preparation and will be dispatched in the coming days as part of the country’s steadfast commitment to support the people of Gaza during this difficult time.
