The Saudi Culinary Arts Commission announced one of 11 sector – specific commissions under the Ministry of Culture during the Cultural Investment conference, organized by the Ministry of Culture at the King Fahad Cultural Centre in Riyadh under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister -may God preserve him-, the official entry of Gault&Millau—one of the world’s most prestigious authorities in culinary arts and hospitality—into the Saudi market through a strategic partnership with the Commission.
This launch introduces the internationally renowned Yellow Guide to the Kingdom for the very first time, setting a new benchmark for culinary excellence and supporting the growth and development of Saudi Arabia’s culinary and hospitality sectors.
With a legacy spanning more than five decades, presence in over 20 countries, a network of more than 400 expert inspectors, and 13,600 restaurants listed worldwide, Gault&Millau’s debut in Saudi Arabia reflects a shared commitment to celebrating local talent, showcasing the diversity of the Saudi culinary landscape, and providing a trusted, independent resource that meets the expectations of both local and international audiences.
The inaugural Saudi edition of the Gault&Millau Guide will focus on five key destinations: Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, AlUla, and Abha. The guide aims to uncover hidden gems, highlight regional diversity, and celebrate the unique flavors, traditions, and innovations found across the Kingdom.
The launch of Gault&Millau in Saudi Arabia includes three core components:
- Printed Guide: the Gault&Millau Saudi Arabia guide promises to be a key resource for exploring the kingdom’s culinary scene. The 350-page edition will include expert reviews of top restaurants, chef profiles and signature recipes. It will also feature city- and region-based highlights, along with toque ratings (from 1 to 5) covering a wide range of price points, making it accessible and inclusive for all readers.
- Digital Platform: The Gault&Millau Saudi Arabia website, part of the international platform, will offer an engaging digital experience with updated restaurant, reviews, practical details and direct links, providing greater visibility for local establishments.
- Annual Gala: The first Gault&Millau Saudi Arabia Gala will be held in January 2026 (exact date to be confirmed), offering networking opportunities for chefs, journalists, influencers and partners while showcasing Saudi culinary excellence to both national and international guests. Honoring the country’s top culinary talents, the landmark event will celebrate the launch of the guide and will feature an awards ceremony with Gault&Millau plaques and trophies, which will be presented during the gala.Through this collaboration, Gault&Millau and the Saudi Culinary Arts Commission aims to elevate local culinary talent, establish new industry standards, and foster international connections that will help shape the future of Saudi Arabia’s culinary landscape.
