    Riyadh, October 06-2025:
The King Salman Global Academy for the Arabic Language inaugurated its Fourth International Conference on Arabic Lexicography in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.

Held under the patronage of His Highness Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, Minister of Culture and Chairman of the Academy’s Board of Trustees, the two-day conference brings together leading cultural figures, linguists, and scholars from various countries.

The Deputy Minister of Culture, Hamed bin Mohammed Fayez, highlighted in his opening remarks that Saudi Arabia, under Vision 2030, is playing a significant global role in promoting Arabic language, culture, and literature.
He emphasized that the King Salman Academy is a key institution dedicated to preserving the Arabic language and expanding its use in scientific and educational domains.

Dr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Washmi, Secretary-General of the Academy, stated that the conference aims to modernize the lexicography industry by integrating digital technologies and artificial intelligence.
He added that international experts are sharing experiences and innovations to make Arabic dictionaries more accessible and globally relevant.

Throughout the first day, several academic sessions were held discussing emerging trends in Arabic lexicography, digital transformation, and the role of AI in language development.
The second day will feature discussions on educational and bilingual dictionaries, scientific terminology, and international cooperation between linguistic institutions.

Experts from Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Tunisia, Sudan, and other nations are participating in the event.
Pakistan is represented by Professor Dr. Fazlullah Din Fikr, Dean of the Faculty of Arabic at the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI).

In an interview with World Point Media, Prof. Dr. Fazlullah said:With the rapid advancement of science and technology, it is essential that the Arabic language also progresses on modern lines.
Such conferences strengthen educational and cultural relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.”

He further noted that promoting the Arabic language in Pakistan would open new avenues in both education and employment for Pakistanis.

Experts believe that this international conference marks a major step toward aligning Arabic lexicography with the digital age and artificial intelligence, reflecting Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and the King Salman Academy’s mission to elevate Arabic as a global language of knowledge, culture, and technology.
