Samarkand, Uzbekistan – November 4th, 2025 – His Highness Prince Bader bin Abdullah bin Farhan AlSaud, Saudi Minister of Culture, addressed the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference today. The event is being held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.

His Highness’s participation underscores the Kingdom’s deep-rooted partnership with UNESCO and its commitment to advancing international cooperation in education, culture, and science. During the session, His Highness addressed the assembly, expressing appreciation for UNESCO’s leadership in fostering peace and mutual understanding worldwide.
“Today, as we commemorate eight decades of fruitful collaboration and shared success, we look forward to continuing this journey, deepening our cooperation, and advancing our collective efforts toward even greater achievements in the years ahead,” His Highness said.
His Highness highlighted the Kingdom’s efforts to advance UNESCO’s global endeavour, including the Saudi Fund for the Preservation of Culture and Heritage and benefited from it 136 countries worldwide. He reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s role as an active partner in shaping cultural and educational initiatives, saying that the Kingdom’s selection to host the next UNESCO Global Conference on Cultural Policies and Sustainable Development – MONDIACULT 2029 – “reflects the Kingdom’s pivotal role in fostering international cultural cooperation.”
His Highness concluded “We are confident that our close partnership with UNESCO will continue to serve as a cornerstone in our journey toward a more prosperous and balanced global future”.
The UNESCO General Conference is the organization’s highest decision-making body, bringing together member states every two years to set priorities in education, culture, science, and communication. It serves as a platform for international dialogue and cooperation to foster peace, sustainable development, and mutual understanding among nations.
