Riyadh — World Point Media’s Rana Azeem met with Bilal Ahmed, the Riyadh Manager of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), in an exclusive interview where he discussed the airline’s services and future plans for the Pakistani community in Saudi Arabia.

Mr. Bilal Ahmed announced that PIA will resume its Riyadh–Karachi flights by the end of this month, marking a major development after nearly three years.
He said, “This decision has been made in response to the strong demand from the Pakistani community, and Insha’Allah, regular flights from Riyadh to Karachi will officially begin by the end of this month.”
He further added that PIA currently operates around 10 weekly flights from Riyadh to various Pakistani cities, including Lahore, Islamabad, Sialkot, and Multan, and that the addition of Karachi will further expand the network.
“With the launch of flights to Karachi, air connectivity between Riyadh and five major cities of Pakistan will become even stronger,” he stated.
Mr. Bilal highlighted that PIA continues to provide vital humanitarian and community services in Saudi Arabia, the most notable being the free repatriation of deceased bodies to Pakistan.
He explained, “Normally, sending a deceased person home costs between 3,000 and 4,000 Saudi Riyals, but PIA provides this service completely free of charge. We spend millions of Riyals annually to ensure that our community does not face financial or logistical difficulties in such times of grief.”
He shared that:
In 2023, PIA repatriated 625 deceased bodies to Pakistan.
In 2024, the number was 525.
And so far in 2025, 325 bodies have already been transported back home.
Mr. Bilal emphasized, “We should all be proud of our national airline, which always stands by its people — whether in emergencies, medical cases, or any other need, PIA is always ready to serve.”
He further expressed gratitude, saying, “PIA extends heartfelt thanks to all its passengers and community members for their continued trust and loyalty. This trust and affection are our greatest strength, and we promise to continue improving our services so that every Pakistani can take pride in their national airline.”
At the conclusion of the event, PIA Riyadh Manager Bilal Ahmed presented honorary shields to media representatives in recognition of their services and continued cooperation.

He remarked, “This recognition is dedicated to all those who play a positive role in strengthening the relationship between the Pakistani community and national institutions.”
