AlUla –Under the patronage of His Highness Prince Bader bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Culture and Chairman of the Board of the Saudi Music Commission, the “Saudi National Orchestra Masterpieces” concert officially opened today (Thursday) at Maraya Hall in AlUla Governorate.

Organized by the Saudi Music Commission, the opening night delivered a fully immersive artistic experience that blended orchestral performance with Saudi musical identity. The carefully curated program took audiences on a journey through diverse musical styles inspired by Saudi heritage, presented through a contemporary artistic vision led by Maestro Hani Farhat, with performances by the Saudi National Orchestra and Choir.

The concert featured a rich selection of musical works, ranging from compositions inspired by traditional Saudi heritage to vocal and orchestral pieces reflecting modern Saudi music. Interwoven maqams and rhythms created layered soundscapes that highlighted the richness and diversity of musical traditions across the Kingdom, including works representing the Saudi classical school.

The event also featured participation from the Theater and Performing Arts Commission, showcasing traditional Saudi performing arts such as Samri, Dahha, Refihi, Yanbawi, Zair, and Khabiti. These performances added a dynamic visual dimension, harmonizing movement and rhythm with orchestral sound, and presenting a vibrant expression of Saudi cultural identity.

This AlUla performance marks another milestone in the continued local and international success of the Saudi National Orchestra Masterpieces series, reaffirming the Saudi Music Commission’s commitment to presenting Saudi music in its finest form and offering audiences meaningful cultural experiences in one of the Kingdom’s most prominent cultural destinations.

From the iconic Maraya Hall, a globally renowned architectural landmark, the Saudi Music Commission will conclude tomorrow the AlUla chapter of the “Saudi National Orchestra Masterpieces” tour—an exceptional musical experience reflecting the evolution of Saudi music and the global presence of national art in one of the world’s leading cultural and tourism sites.
