Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, visited the Pakistan Embassy in Cairo, where he met representatives of 254 Pakistani students studying at Al-Azhar University.

The Federal Minister interacted individually with the students and inquired about their academic progress, educational environment, and challenges. He also briefed them on discussions held with his Egyptian counterpart regarding scholarships for Pakistani students.

Sardar Muhammad Yousaf highlighted the central importance of Al-Azhar University in the Muslim world, recognizing it as a globally acknowledged institution, particularly in matters of religious guidance and fatwas. He emphasized that students must utilize the knowledge gained from this historic institution for the promotion of religious and worldly education, as well as for Pakistan’s development and prosperity.

The Minister held a detailed discussion on the issues faced by students and their suggestions for improving academic arrangements at Al-Azhar University. He assured them that the Ministry of Religious Affairs would provide full support for the effective resolution of their concerns.
He encouraged students to actively participate in curricular and extracurricular activities and to dedicate their efforts toward promoting a positive image of Pakistan.
The students presented several recommendations related to academic and extracurricular matters, to which the Federal Minister assured full cooperation.
During his visit, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf also recorded his remarks in the visitors’ book at the Pakistan Embassy in Cairo.
