    Federal Minister Highlights Pakistan’s Labour Readiness and Global Cooperation at Global Labour Market Conference in Riyadh

    The Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, H.E. Chaudhry Salik Hussain, represented Pakistan at the 3rd Global Labour Market Conference (GLMC) held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Minister highlighted Pakistan’s strong commitment to modern labour policies, skills development, and alignment with international best practices.

    During the high-level Ministerial Roundtable, the Federal Minister shared Pakistan’s vision for labour market reform, emphasizing demand-driven skills development, digitisation of the Bureau of Emigration, and alignment of training programs with real-time global labour market needs. He outlined Pakistan’s focus on high-growth sectors including construction, healthcare, information and communication technology, logistics, and emerging green jobs.

    The Minister also stressed the importance of ethical recruitment practices, worker-centered labour mobility, and coordinated national approaches to migration and skills policies.

    On the sidelines of the conference, Chaudhry Salik Hussain held bilateral meetings with ministers and senior officials from Saudi Arabia, Oman, and the Philippines, focusing on expanding government-to-government labour agreements, skills partnerships, and transparent labour mobility frameworks.

    He further participated in the 10th Anniversary celebration of Musaned, recognizing its role in promoting regulated and ethical recruitment systems. The Minister also visited exhibition stalls of leading global companies to review innovations in workforce development and technology-based recruitment. Additionally, he attended the graduation ceremony of the Global Labour Market Academy, praising its efforts in developing future-ready talent and promoting lifelong learning.

    In his concluding remarks, the Federal Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s readiness to strengthen cooperation with international partners to develop skills pathways, digital mobility platforms, and ethical recruitment models, contributing to a fair, transparent, and resilient global labour market.
