Riyadh, Rana Azeem Saudi Arabia – The Saudi Music Commission successfully organized the first edition of the Tar Festival at Abu Bakr Salem Stage, Boulevard City. The four-day event celebrated Saudi Arabia’s rich musical heritage, bringing together renowned singers and instrumentalists who mesmerized audiences with unforgettable performances.

The festival coincided with the Esports World Cup, offering visitors a vibrant cultural and musical journey centered on the Tar—a traditional instrument with deep roots in Saudi music.

The opening night witnessed a remarkable turnout, with enthusiastic audience responses to live performances. In addition to concerts, the festival featured a dedicated marketplace inspired by the historic Souq Al-Hilla, where musical instruments were showcased and sold. Live workshops were also held, where artisans demonstrated the making of the tar and other traditional instruments.

Artists who performed included Dahoum Al-Talasi, Tahani Al-Sultan, Ibrahim Al-Sultan, Rehab Al-Shamrani, Turki Al-Jaziyah, Khadijah Mout, Homas Fikri, and Ibrahim Al-Hakimi, alongside talented instrumentalists.

The Tar Festival marked a significant step in highlighting Saudi Arabia’s musical identity while aligning with international events that attract global attention, further showcasing Saudi music on the world stage.
