    Jeddah – September 6, 2025:
The Consulate General of Pakistan in Jeddah hosted a solemn and dignified ceremony to mark the 60th Defence Day of Pakistan, attended by a large number of community members, dignitaries, and special guests.

The event began with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an, followed by the national anthems of Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Throughout the program, heartfelt remarks were delivered in tribute to the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of the Pakistani armed forces during the historic war of September 6, 1965.

In his keynote address, Consul General of Pakistan in Jeddah, Mr. Khalid Majid, paid glowing tribute to the martyrs and their families, acknowledging the sacrifices rendered in safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Pakistan. He noted:
“Our Defence Forces have always stood as a shield of courage and commitment. Their sacrifices are a source of pride and inspiration for generations of Pakistanis.”

Mr. Majid also reminded the community that this year’s Defence Day coincides with another critical moment for the nation as Pakistan recovers from devastating floods. He emphasized the importance of unity, resilience, and collective responsibility to support the country in overcoming natural calamities.

Addressing the gathering as Special Guest, Mr. Masood Puri, Chairman Kashmir Committee Jeddah, praised the enduring commitment of the armed forces, both in historical battles and in more recent operations such as Marka-e-Haq – Buyaan-ul-Marsoos. He called upon the community to extend wholehearted support to Pakistan during times of crisis and adversity.

The spirit of nationalism was further amplified by passionate speeches from young students of Pakistan International Schools, who paid rich tribute to the sacrifices of Pakistan’s Defence Forces. They pledged to uphold the values of courage, sacrifice, and unity in defending the nation’s sovereignty.

The ceremony concluded with collective prayers for the martyrs of Pakistan, for the people of Kashmir and Palestine, and for the wellbeing of the entire Islamic Ummah.
