The Presidency for Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque announced that His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Al-Qarafi – may Allah preserve him – will lead the worshippers in the Lunar Eclipse Prayer (Salat al-Khusuf) at the Prophet’s Mosque on Sunday, 15 Rabi‘ Al-Awwal 1447 AH, corresponding to September 6, 2025.
The Presidency explained that the prayer will be held, God willing, at 8:45 p.m., in line with its commitment to organizing acts of worship, reviving the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ in performing the eclipse prayer, and enabling visitors of the Prophet’s Mosque to observe it in a tranquil and spiritual atmosphere.
This comes as part of the Presidency’s ongoing efforts to promote religious practices and revive prophetic traditions, in fulfillment of its mission to serve the guests of the Two Holy Mosques and facilitate their worship in accordance with proper Islamic guidance.
