    Riyadh, October 2 -2025: Federal Minister for IT & Telecom Shaza Fatima Khawaja met with His Excellency Abdullah bin Sharaf Al-Ghamdi, President of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA). The meeting focused on exploring avenues of cooperation between the two countries in multiple sectors.

    Held on the sidelines of the Pakistan-Saudi Arabia Technology Cooperation Forum, the discussion emphasized strengthening collaboration in the context of Saudi Vision 2030 and Pakistan’s National AI Policy 2025. The talks included exploring Saudi Arabia’s “One Million Saudis in AI” initiative for capacity building and agreeing on cooperation to achieve Pakistan’s target of training one million AI professionals.

    Proposals were also made to organize joint workshops on AI regulations, governance, and the establishment of a privacy sandbox. Both sides agreed on technical cooperation in high-performance computing and the establishment of a National Data Repository, while also considering joint R&D-funded projects in agriculture, education, health, and smart cities.

    Furthermore, collaboration on developing localized Large Language Models (LLMs) in Urdu and Arabic was proposed. Discussions also covered experience sharing on the data economy, data sharing, and the National Data Bank model, opening new avenues for digital cooperation.
