Dhahran, Saudi Arabia — The King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra), an Aramco initiative, proudly announces the launch of Ithra Winter 2025–2026, coinciding with Khobar Season. The season’s grand opening will captivate audiences with an extraordinary fusion of culture and visual creativity — featuring a dazzling display of more than 1,000 drones painting the Dhahran night sky with art-inspired formations. The spectacle marks one of the largest visual shows in the region, setting the tone for a season of artistic brilliance and cultural celebration.
Saudi Art Opens Ithra Winter
The season opens with a special concert at Ithra’s Theatre featuring acclaimed Saudi artists Abdulaziz Almuana and Abdullah Al Mana, under the direction of Maestro Wisam Khassaf.
Over four days, Ithra’s outdoor plazas will transform into vibrant stages showcasing a diverse lineup of live performances, including Egyptian singer Saad Al Oud, artist Arwa, and the choral ensemble Corala, offering interactive shows that celebrate the energy and creativity of the local music scene.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, visitors will enjoy roaming performances, the Chinese Orchestra, and a variety of theatrical productions, all reflecting the richness and spirit of Saudi Arabia’s evolving cultural landscape.
Celebrating Art and Heritage
Art and heritage enthusiasts can also look forward to the opening of Echoes of the Familiar on October 30, an exhibition showcasing 28 artworks by over 25 Saudi artists. The collection explores the theme of “home” through diverse artistic expressions and perspectives, highlighting the depth and talent of Saudi contemporary art.
A Global Cultural Destination
The launch underscores Ithra’s role as a leading cultural destination in the Eastern Province, bridging local and global experiences through signature programs such as Tanween, the 10th edition of the iRead competition, and Ithra Spain Cultural Days — a celebration of Spanish culture through music, art, cinema, and cuisine. These initiatives reinforce Ithra’s mission to foster creativity and promote cross-cultural exchange between Saudi Arabia and the world.
