Samarkand, Uzbekistan – November 4th, 2025 – On the sidelines of the 43rd UNESCO General Conference in Uzbekistan, His Highness Prince Bader bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud, Saudi Minister of Culture, met today with Her Excellency Ms. Gayane Umerova, Chairperson of the Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation (ACDF).

At the beginning of the meeting, His Highness extended his sincere congratulations to the Republic of Uzbekistan for hosting the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference and commended the successful organization of the Bukhara Biennale of Contemporary Art a remarkable cultural event that bridges a vast historical legacy with modern artistic expression, underscoring the vital role of art in advancing intercultural dialogue.
During the discussion, both sides reviewed ongoing cooperation and explored new avenues for deepening cultural relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Uzbekistan. His Highness highlighted the growing partnership between the two nations in heritage preservation, artistic exchange, and cross-cultural collaboration.

His Highness praised Uzbekistan’s active participation as Guest of Honor at the Riyadh International Book Fair 2025 and commended its valuable contributions to the Islamic Arts Biennale in 2023 and 2025, through the loan of significant Islamic art artifacts. He also recalled the presentation of the Musalla design during the first edition of the Bukhara Biennale of Contemporary Art, describing it as a symbol of creative exchange and cultural understanding between the two nations.
In line with both nations’ commitment to protecting shared heritage, His Highness reaffirmed the importance of international cooperation in safeguarding cultural treasures, citing both nations partnership with International Alliance for the Protection of Heritage (ALIPH).
His Highness concluded by extending sincere thanks to Her Excellency Ms. Umerova and the Uzbek government for their warm hospitality and reaffirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to strengthening the bonds of friendship and cultural cooperation with the Republic of Uzbekistan.
