RIYADH —Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Defense, Prince Khalid bin Salman, presented the King Abdulaziz Medal (First Class) to Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir, on Sunday in a ceremony at his office in Riyadh, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

The award was given following a royal order from King Salman and recognizes Field Marshal Munir’s distinguished efforts in strengthening Saudi-Pakistani friendship, promoting joint cooperation, and further developing relations between the two countries.

Prince Khalid congratulated Field Marshal Munir on his appointment as Army Chief and wished him success in his new role.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed the historical ties between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, discussed strategic defense cooperation, and explored ways to enhance international peace and security.

The Saudi delegation included Deputy Minister of Defense Prince Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Ayyaf, Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili, and other senior defense officials. The Pakistani delegation was led by Ambassador Ahmed Farooq, along with senior military officials including Major General Muhammad Jawad Tariq and Brigadier General Mohsin Javed.
