Diriyah-As part of the Diriyah Season 25/26 programs, the Al-Huwayett Program officially launched today in the historic Adhuwaihrah District, one of Diriyah’s most prominent heritage districts. Known for its rich cultural and educational character, the district has played a vital role in shaping Diriyah’s urban identity since its earliest days.
Open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Al-Huwayett offers a unique cultural and entertainment experience designed to connect younger generations with Diriyah’s values and traditions. Through interactive and innovative activities, the program presents Saudi heritage in an educational way while strengthening family bonds in an environment that brings together children and adults in a spirit of joy and belonging.
The Adhuwaihrah District stands as a living example of harmony between education and community engagement. Its historic landmarks and mosques—most notably the Adhuwaihrah Mosque—reflect its deep-rooted history and its role in preserving authentic Najdi heritage. Inspired by the spirit of a neighborhood historically known for nurturing and educating young minds, the program brings this legacy to life.
Al-Huwayett features five main interactive zones designed as a journey through different stages of life in Diriyah. The experience begins at “Family Alley,” an open space for play and relaxation, followed by “Al-Mawten” (Homeland), where children learn decision-making skills and the art of building Najdi-style homes. In “Al-Faydah” (Growth Oasis), visitors participate in hands-on agricultural experiences, including planting, caring for palm trees, and learning about local animals. “Al-Nahdah” (Community & Trade) recreates the vibrancy of traditional markets and daily life through imaginative interaction, while the journey concludes at “Al-Hisn” (Strength & Unity), an interactive maze that promotes teamwork, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
In addition, Al-Huwayett integrates interactive play with authentic traditions through architectural elements inspired by Diriyah’s distinctive identity, enhanced by sound and light displays that enrich the visual experience and spark curiosity and discovery.
The Al-Huwayett Program aims to enhance awareness of Diriyah as a global cultural and tourism destination by transforming local heritage into a comprehensive educational and entertainment experience. It also reinforces the role of the historic Adhuwaihrah District as a living landmark that connects culture, environment, and community within a sustainable framework.
Diriyah Season 25/26 is part of the Diriyah Gate Development Authority’s strategy to position Diriyah as a world-class cultural destination. The season supports the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 by developing the tourism and culture sectors, enhancing quality of life, and establishing Diriyah as the beating heart of Saudi identity and a source of inspiration for future generations.
