Saudi Arabia’s national football team is once again preparing to take center stage at the FIFA World Cup as the Green Falcons gear up for their opening match against Uruguay. The highly anticipated fixture will be played in Miami, USA, on 15 June 2026, while fans in Saudi Arabia will witness the match at 1:00 a.m. on 16 June local time.

The 26-member Saudi squad features an exciting blend of experience and youthful talent. Goalkeepers Nawaf Al-Aqidi, Mohammed Al-Owais, and Ahmed Al-Kassar provide strength between the posts. The defensive line includes Saud Abdulhamid, Hassan Tambakti, Abdulilah Al-Amri, Ali Lajami, and Sultan Al-Ghannam. The midfield is led by Mohammed Kanno, Nasser Al-Dawsari, Musab Al-Juwayr, and Salman Al-Faraj, while attacking hopes rest on Salem Al-Dawsari, Firas Al-Buraikan, and Saleh Al-Shehri.

The team will once again be led by Salem Al-Dawsari, whose memorable goal against Argentina at the 2022 FIFA World Cup remains one of the most iconic moments in Saudi football history. His leadership and experience are expected to play a crucial role in the team’s campaign.

Saudi Arabia’s World Cup journey has witnessed both triumphs and challenges. From reaching the Round of 16 in their debut appearance in 1994 to recording a historic victory over Argentina in 2022, the Green Falcons have consistently demonstrated their ability to compete at the highest level.

Millions of overseas Pakistanis residing in Saudi Arabia are also eagerly supporting the Green Falcons. Community gatherings are being organized in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, and other cities to watch the match and cheer on the national team.

Fans remain hopeful that Saudi Arabia will once again deliver outstanding performances and create new chapters of football history on the world stage.
