Riyadh (Rana Azeem) — The Embassy of Pakistan in Riyadh organized a special event to observe Kashmir Exploitation Day, with the participation of representatives of the Pakistani and Kashmiri communities, social and business personalities, and other distinguished guests.

The event aimed to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir, highlight Pakistan’s position regarding India’s unilateral actions of August 5, 2019, concerning the constitutional status of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), and draw the attention of the international community to the Kashmir dispute.

On the occasion, special messages from the President of Pakistan, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, and the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister were read out. The messages reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to continue providing political, diplomatic and moral support to their legitimate struggle.

Addressing the gathering, Ambassador of Pakistan Ahmad Farooq said that Pakistan continues to effectively highlight the Kashmir issue at appropriate international and diplomatic forums. He stated that Pakistan has also presented its position on Kashmir before relevant forums in Saudi Arabia, including the Shura Council , effectively conveying Pakistan’s stance regarding the fundamental rights and right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people.


The Ambassador said that Pakistan’s efforts are aimed at highlighting the situation faced by the people of IIOJK, their fundamental rights and legitimate aspirations at the international level, while emphasizing the need for the international community to play its role in achieving a just and lasting resolution of the Kashmir dispute.

A documentary film on the current situation in IIOJK was also screened during the event, highlighting the challenges faced by the Kashmiri people and the reported human rights situation in the region.

Speakers emphasized that the Kashmir dispute should be resolved in accordance with the relevant United Nations resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people . They also urged the international community to play an effective role in protecting human rights and ensuring the fundamental rights of the people of IIOJK.
The speakers described the August 5, 2019 actions as a significant and painful turning point for the Kashmiri people , reaffirming that Pakistan would continue to highlight the Kashmir issue at international, diplomatic and political forums.
Members of the Pakistani and Kashmiri communities participated actively in the event and expressed their *solidarity and support for the people of Kashmir.
