Jeddah, Saudi Arabia – 09-September 2025 – The Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA) has announced the launch of a unique six-overs cricket tournament, “6 Overs Cricket Hungama”, to be held on 23 September 2025, coinciding with Saudi Arabia’s National Day.

Chief Organizer Nadeem Al-Nadwi briefed media representatives, confirming that 12 teams will participate: six from Jeddah, two from Tabuk, one each from Dammam, Taif, and Yanbu.

The highlight of the tournament will be the participation of seven international cricketers. Former Pakistan all-rounder Abdul Razzaq and fast bowler Umar Gul will attend as Guests of Honor, while Sohaib Maqsood, Sohail Khan, Sohail Tanvir, Usman Khan, and Imad Butt will feature directly as team players for the first time in a local Saudi event.

“This is a proud moment for Jeddah,” said Nadeem Al-Nadwi. “Having such a large number of international players in one tournament is a great honor for our cricket community.”
The format has been designed to create fast-paced, high-scoring matches:
A six will count for 10 runs
A four will count for 6 runs
Wide and no-ball deliveries will add 2 runs
WPCA has assured full transparency with professional umpires officiating all games. A special raffle draw will also be held for spectators, offering valuable prizes, while the winning team will receive a cash prize of SAR 30,000.

The press briefing was also attended by WPCA General Secretary Sohail Ahmed, Executive Member Kashif Mirza, and International Umpire & Tournament Technical Advisor Osama Saad.
