RIYADH: A prestigious special ceremony was held at the Embassy of Pakistan in Riyadh in recognition of the national, social, professional and welfare services rendered by prominent members of the Pakistani community in Saudi Arabia.

On behalf of the Government of Pakistan, Dr. Asad Rumi, Abrar Tanoli and Dr. Majeed Khan were honored with the Presidential Civil Award, Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, in recognition of their valuable contributions and services.

Ambassador of Pakistan Ahmed Farooq presented the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz to all three distinguished recipients on behalf of the Government of Pakistan. A large number of representatives of the Pakistani community, social and business personalities, and other distinguished guests attended the ceremony.

Dr. Asad Rumi, former President of the Pakistan Doctors Group, is a prominent social figure who has rendered significant services to the Pakistani community in the medical, social and welfare sectors.

Abrar Tanoli, organizer of the Pakistan Hajj Volunteers Group and a prominent social worker, has played an important role in assisting pilgrims and serving the Pakistani community.

Dr. Majeed Khan is a renowned horticulture professional who has served in Saudi Arabia’s cultural and horticulture sectors for approximately 50 years. His long-standing contributions to horticulture, cultural affairs and community development are highly commendable.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Ahmed Farooq said that the Government of Pakistan greatly values the services and contributions of overseas Pakistanis. He said that prominent members of the Pakistani community in Saudi Arabia, through their hard work, expertise and social services, have not only served their community but have also contributed to projecting a positive image of Pakistan.

The Ambassador said that the services of Dr. Asad Rumi, Abrar Tanoli and Dr. Majeed Khan span several decades, and that the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz represents recognition of their national, social and professional contributions.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, participants congratulated the three distinguished recipients on receiving the Presidential Civil Award, Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, describing the occasion as a proud and memorable moment for the Pakistani community residing in Saudi Arabia.
