RIYADH : A condolence meeting and prayer session was organized by the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Riyadh Region following the death of Muhammad Riaz Rathore, senior leader of PPP Gulf and Saudi Arabia, Chairman of Bazm-e-Riyadh and a prominent overseas Pakistani.

The meeting was attended by PPP office-bearers and workers, along with representatives of political, social, religious, cultural, literary and media organizations and prominent members of the Pakistani community. Representatives of Bazm-e-Riyadh also joined the meeting online from Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and paid tribute to the late leader.

Representatives of Pakistan Muslim League-N, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), Majlis-e-Pakistan, Jamhoori Watan Party, Awami National Party, Bazm-e-Riyadh and other political and social organizations expressed their condolences to the PPP and the bereaved family. Speakers paid tribute to Rathore’s political, social, literary and cultural contributions and described him as a sincere and active member of the Pakistani community.

PPP Gulf Secretary General Muhammad Khalid Rana, Gulf Cultural Wing President Qazi Ishaq Memon, Riyadh Region President Ahsan Abbasi, Senior Vice President Wasim Sajid and senior leader Sardar Abdul Razzaq, among others, expressed their grief and said that Rathore had played a longstanding role within the party and remained committed to the political philosophy associated with Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto, as well as democracy, public rights and social justice.

Representatives of Bazm-e-Riyadh highlighted his contribution to social and cultural activities, saying that he organized and supported numerous gatherings and events that helped promote Pakistani culture and a positive image of Pakistan in Saudi Arabia.

The meeting concluded with a collective prayer for the deceased led by renowned religious scholar Qari Aziz-ur-Rehman Durrani.

Participants expressed their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul and for patience and strength for his family.
