Riyadh ;-A special literary session was organized by Takhayyul, a renowned literary organization dedicated to the promotion of Urdu language and literature in Saudi Arabia, at the Takhayyul Center in Riyadh. The event was attended by prominent poets, writers, intellectuals, and literary enthusiasts from across the city.
The session was dedicated to a critical review of “Lahoo Kay Phool” (Flowers of Blood), a poetry collection by the distinguished Pakistani poet Niaz Khayalvi. Participants engaged in comprehensive discussions on the poet’s personality, literary contributions, poetic style, and artistic vision.
The session moderator and General Secretary of Takhayyul presented a research paper highlighting the overall style and literary characteristics of Niaz Khayalvi’s poetry. Renowned poet Shahid Khayalvi spoke about the poet’s personality and examined how various aspects of his life and experiences influenced his literary work.
Mansoor Mehboob, Patron-in-Chief of Takhayyul and a well-known poet, presented a scholarly paper focusing on the artistic merits of the collection and its critical appreciation from a literary and perceptual perspective. Subsequently, noted poet Yousuf Ali Yousuf delivered an insightful analysis of the aesthetic dimensions, metaphors, and similes found in Niaz Khayalvi’s poetry.
In his presidential address, distinguished educationist Professor Gohar Rafiq paid tribute to the literary services of Niaz Khayalvi, describing his poetry as a remarkable blend of contemporary awareness, human emotions, and artistic excellence. He also praised Takhayyul for its continued efforts in promoting Urdu language and literature in Saudi Arabia.
The participants unanimously acknowledged that Niaz Khayalvi’s poetic works constitute a valuable contribution to Urdu literature and serve as a source of inspiration for emerging writers and poets.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks to all speakers, guests, and participants for their valuable contributions.
