Jeddah: As part of Pakistan’s Independence Day celebrations, Asconcom officially unveiled the trophy for the Quaid-e-Azam Independence Cup 2026 during a prestigious ceremony held at a local hotel. The event was attended by prominent members of the Pakistani community, journalists, team owners, captains, and players participating in the tournament.

The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, while Syed Jafar and Shaheen Afridi served as the event hosts. Among the distinguished guests were Irfan Chaudhry, Press Counsellor at the Consulate General of Pakistan in Jeddah, renowned community leaders Chaudhry Akram Gujjar, Chaudhry Azhar Warraich, and several other notable members of the Pakistani community.
Addressing the audience, Chaudhry Shafqat Mahmood, Chairman of Asconcom, said that the primary objective of organizing the Quaid-e-Azam Independence Cup 2026 is to encourage young people to participate in healthy and positive activities while promoting sportsmanship, unity, brotherhood, and national harmony within the Pakistani community in Saudi Arabia.

He emphasized that sporting events of this nature help develop teamwork, discipline, leadership, and patriotism among young people, contributing to a stronger and more vibrant community.
Members of the Organizing Committee, Engr. Abdul Mateen and Engr. Syed Jafar, provided a detailed briefing on the tournament arrangements, announcing that eight competitive teams will battle for the championship title during the two-day event.
According to the organizers, all matches of the Quaid-e-Azam Independence Cup 2026 will be played on August 6 and 7 at Jeddah Nets Ground.
The ceremony concluded with the official unveiling of the tournament trophy, while team owners, captains, and organizers reaffirmed their commitment to making the event successful, well-organized, and memorable.
