Jeddah – A significant community gathering was held at the Pakistan Consulate in Jeddah, where renowned Qari Syed Sadaqat Ali delivered an inspiring keynote address on the theme “Qur’an and Paigham-e-Pakistan.” The event was attended by a large number of community members.
The program began with welcome remarks from the Consul General of Pakistan, who emphasized the importance of engaging in positive initiatives that uplift Pakistan’s image globally. He stressed that collective efforts are essential for restoring the dignity and prestige of the nation among the comity of nations.
In his keynote address, Qari Syed Sadaqat Ali highlighted the background of the historic declaration known as “Paigham-e-Pakistan.” He explained that during the 1980s, when the country was plagued by terrorism and suicide attacks, scholars and clerics from all schools of thought came together to issue a fatwa in the light of the Qur’an and Sunnah. This declaration unequivocally stated that terrorism and the killing of innocent people have no connection with Islam.
Quoting the Holy Qur’an, Qari Sadaqat said: “Whoever kills one innocent person, it is as if he has killed all of humanity, and whoever saves one life, it is as if he has saved all of humanity.” He also mentioned that he had the honor of seeking the endorsement of this fatwa from eminent scholars across the Muslim world.
He further stressed that Pakistan belongs to all Pakistanis, regardless of sect or school of thought, and that tolerance, patience, and resilience are essential values for becoming a dignified nation.
Expressing gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, he acknowledged the longstanding support of Saudi Arabia for Pakistan, particularly in strengthening the country’s economy. He concluded by urging Pakistanis to work collectively for the stability of the nation and the strengthening of its economy, sending a clear message that Pakistanis are loyal to their homeland and will never be part of any destructive activity.
