Dammam, Saudi Arabia: The Embassy of Pakistan in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia successfully organized a vibrant Pakistani Mango Festival at Danube Hypermarket in Dammam on 7 July 2026, promoting Pakistan’s premium mangoes to Saudi consumers. The event attracted diplomats, business leaders, members of the media, academics, community representatives, Saudi nationals, and visitors from various countries.

The festival was organized under the leadership of Dr. Shagufta Zareen, Minister for Trade and Investment at the Embassy of Pakistan, while Munir Hassan, Trade Development Officer, coordinated the event. The opening ceremony featured a ribbon-cutting followed by the cutting of a special cake made from Pakistan’s famous Chaunsa mangoes. Guests also enjoyed a variety of mango-inspired delicacies, including mango tarts, cupcakes, cream puffs, and other desserts.

The Chief Guest was Sardar Ilyas Khan, President of the TAFGA Group. The event was also attended by representatives of Danube Hypermarket, including Abdulrahman Sharbini and Ibrahim Mukhtar Bin Juma, along with Dr. Khalid Al-Dosari, Syeda Namera Mohsin Shirazi, Syed Zulnoon Bukhari, Areej Farooq, Dr. Ali, Munir Mansha, Zunaira Bukhari, Ayesha Tariq, Fatima Bukhari, Shehnaz Akhtar, and several distinguished personalities from different sectors.

Visitors were highly impressed by the exceptional taste, aroma, and premium quality of Pakistani Chaunsa mangoes, resulting in a significant increase in sales during the festival. Many Saudi customers purchased mangoes in large quantities, while international social media influencers and vloggers extensively covered the event, further enhancing the global visibility of Pakistan’s iconic fruit.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Shagufta Zareen said that Pakistani mangoes, particularly the Chaunsa variety, are among the finest in the world. She reaffirmed the Embassy’s commitment to promoting Pakistani agricultural products, expanding exports, and strengthening trade relations with Saudi Arabia. She added that such commercial and cultural events play an important role in enhancing bilateral economic cooperation.
Saudi visitors praised the fragrance and unique flavor of Pakistani mangoes and expressed interest in seeing more Pakistani fruits—including peaches, apricots, guavas, kinnow citrus, lychees, and other seasonal produce—introduced into the Saudi market.
The organizers expressed confidence that the success of the Mango Festival will further increase demand for Pakistani mangoes and other agricultural products in Saudi Arabia, contributing to stronger trade and economic ties between the two brotherly nations.
