Jeddah: (Noor-ul-Hassan) The Overseas Pakistani Volunteers Group (OPVG) Jeddah organized a prestigious and vibrant celebration to mark Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day, attended by a large number of members of the Pakistani community, families and children.
The event featured national songs, impressive performances by children, speeches, tableaus and a variety of cultural presentations, creating an atmosphere filled with patriotic spirit and enthusiasm. The audience warmly appreciated the children for showcasing their artistic talents.
The event was presided over by OPVG Jeddah President Gul Shehzad Jadoon, while Ali Ahmed served as the host. The chief guests were Chaudhry Shafqat Mahmood, Chairman of the Pakistan Investors Forum, and Siddiqa Maqsood Malik, Academic Principal of Pakistan International School.
Addressing the gathering, OPVG Jeddah President Gul Shehzad Jadoon welcomed the guests and participants and extended his Independence Day greetings. Highlighting OPVG’s community and welfare services, he said the event was organized on the directives of Abrar Ahmed, Chairman and Founder of OPVG. He emphasized that serving the overseas Pakistani community and contributing to welfare activities remain among the forum’s top priorities.
Chief guests Chaudhry Shafqat Mahmood and Siddiqa Maqsood Malik appreciated OPVG’s voluntary community services, dedication and welfare initiatives. They congratulated the Pakistani community on Independence Day and assured their full possible support for the forum’s welfare activities.

The event was also addressed by Chaudhry Akram Gujjar, Chairman of Pakistan Muslim League (N); Chaudhry Noor-ul-Hassan Gujjar, Chairman of Pak Media Journalist Forum; Ali Khursheed Malik, Chairman of Kababish Art Council; Chaudhry Muhammad Tariq, and other speakers.
The speakers congratulated the community on Independence Day and praised OPVG’s management for organizing a meaningful and well-organized celebration. They also commended the forum for its community welfare and volunteer services.
Children were among the highlights of the event, presenting national songs, speeches and colorful tableaus that received enthusiastic applause from the audience. The participants particularly appreciated the preparation, discipline and impressive performances of the girls.
On the occasion, senior OPVG member and prominent social activist Safia Zohaib Ali was specially acknowledged for her valuable role in preparing the children and contributing to their outstanding performances.
At the conclusion of the event, organizers Gul Shehzad Jadoon, Ali Ahmed, Naeem Akhtar, Kashif Razzaq, Rashid Mahmood and Sulaiman Butt, along with other organizers, presented special shields to prominent community personalities and individuals who made notable contributions to the event.
The celebration concluded with the cutting of the Independence Day cake, followed by special prayers for the security, progress, stability and prosperity of Pakistan.
